I think it is way over priced for what you get. The Volt is not the answer

Where is the 'article' comprof? This is only a junk news video and an untruthful one at that.

The Volt will not "run out of juice" as this bogus headline would have us believe! The onboard four cylinder engine is the electricity generator when the batteries are depleted.

A useless video and non-news.

Good grief... This Fox guy didn't stall out in the tunnel, the Volt just shifted to the gas motor from all electric.

not much tolerance for errors with the EV's.
Can you carry an empty 2 gallon can to walk to a station and get some more electricity if you run out on the road?

The Volt is like any other car, when the energy source runs out, wheather is be electricity or gasoline, the car stops right there. All things being equal, I would like to not be stuck in a tunnel. So remember to always pay attention to your car's guages.

Juan Williams steals the show with his balanced commentary. The gal in the black dress was obviously not hired based upon her intellect. Almost lost in all of this silly banter was the fact that the Volt delivered only 25 miles of electric range on a full overnight charge. The advertised EV range is 40 miles.

Anyone that feels good about accomplishing a measly 25 mile drive after a 12-hour charge must be on drugs. And BTW, the Volt gets lousy gas mileage when it's not able to use electric power.

According to the Video, the Volt switched from all electric mode to gas mode after 25 miles. It Did NOT stall or stop! The gas range would take it almost another 300 miles. "the total range is 379 miles (610 km)."

According to GM's own advertising, at 25 miles is about where this change is expected to happen. According to General Motors the Volt can travel 25 to 50 miles ... on its lithium-ion battery alone.

As Orphancarguy points out the Volt is NOT an Electric car! It's a Hybrid, "the internal combustion engine may at times be engaged mechanically to assist both electric motors to propel the Volt."

It wasn't out of gas, it just switched modes.

My guess is that this, Eric Bolling guy, wasn't paying attention when he called the switch at 25 miles going to "all gas mode" because actually, it just switched from "All electric" mode to "Hybrid" mode, at which point it would be running very much like other Hybrids like the Prius run, charging the battery from the gas engine and the regenerative breaks and switching back and forth from electric to gas mode as needed.

What you get for the $45,000 is "the most fuel-efficient compact car sold in the United States," according to the (EPA).

But if I thought that Bolling wasn't paying attention, he was a rocket scientist compared to that foolish lady that thought that the switching modes was "Breaking down!" She is nuts!

And why is this even news? All he has to do is switch over to the gas engine (isn't this automatic?). He did remember that he has a hybrid, didn't he?

The Volt is an extended range electric gasoline hybrid, NOT an electric. Fox must have run it out of gasoline as well as battery--idiots!

Venzadriver, why stop at 2 battery packs in the cars? Why not three, four or more? Yes, eventually you would have no room for anyone but the driver and the car and it would be too heavy to roll, but think of all the power you'd have!

Ignore the VOLT. We buy Girl Scouts cookies primarily because they are good, and we love them. I like having the little cookie pushers at the stores.

This is why they need to put 2 battery packs in the cars. One charges while the other discharges.

The EV's are just not developed to the point of being practical and affordable. Now it has a small market but they will get us into them by a combination of high fuel prices and government mandate. What color will to choose? Green?

Why? when it only goes 25 miles on full charge and gets about 30 miles to a gallon. My Big Buick does better than that.
