Toyota pitches hybrids on Home Shopping Network

GasBuddy Blog -- Yes, it's true. Toyota is taking its sales pitch where women enjoy one of their favorite pursuits: shopping for stuff they don't need. And there are stores devoted to just that (Bed, Bath & Beyond, for instance. What's the "beyond" for? Because it's beyond all reason; that's why it's called that.) But now Toyota is looking to captivate this lucrative audience and they're investing serious bucks on hour-long infomercials featuring the Prius, Camry, Avalon and Highlander on the Home Shopping Network (HSN).

And frankly, for guys, that's a little scary. You know what I'm talking about: 'Impulse' purchases. Those are two vastly different things for men and women. A guy makes an impulse purchase and we're talking about Slim Jims...

I hear there are lots of good deals on 2012 Prius (Prii) at the dealers because the 2013's are on their way now. Why pour tons of money in your tank when you could get around in something that easily gets 50 mpg?

Hybrids produce less pollution on the road but more in manufacture and when they are junked. In total its a wash environmentally. Just contributes to the SMUG factor.

Toyota pitches hybrids on Home Shopping Network? That's one way to sell Inbreds and their other vehicles, Impulse Buying and Every Which Way But Loose! You cannot buy ON the network, it's for Information Only (FYI) to spark interest in the viewers.
How much for the Wolfgang Puck Cookie Press Set (207-221) again? $19.95 +S&H $3.95!
With 'Coming out of the closet' Fred's lousy, smoke and mirrors, lack of jobs, dog and pony show and in the crapper economy, my curent vehicle was paid for many years ago so why have new car payments? I will drive my current vehicle into the ground before buying anything new, used, EV, Inbred, diesel, hydrogen, alternative fuel, CNG, concept and certainly not a Prius, Tesla, Leaf or Volt!
Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money.
The price of fuel at the pump is too high!
